Music... great! I have my PC hooked up to an old hi-fi - and play mp3 tracks from the PC - through the hi-fi, all day long. I'm NOT actually extolling the virtues of "downloading" here but - the ability to search for and find not only music tracks, but Video (porn if you want it), software etc.. it's brilliant!! with a 56K Modem its a bit slow/tortuous. like maybe a file of 3 to 5 Mb will take 20 minutes to download - but with Broadband etc.. - only a couple of minutes. As I said I am not proposing that you do this (illegally download music) - but these search engines like Limewire and eMule etc... they are tools - which allow you to do this - I have never downloaded any music and will never make any available for sharing The following tracks are NOT shared by me (I have them on my PC ripped from CD's (that I bought) etc..) A good site is of course http://www.cddb.com but I only use this to identify the names of tracks from albums I've liked.
As at November 2005 - I use LimeWire, having tried eMule, iMesh, Kazaa, Napster and others in the meantime
As at August 2003 I'm still trying to find the following tracks - in order to buy legitimate copies:
